Emma Taylor EdSquad
Emma Taylor holds a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Dance), a Graduate Certificate in Creative Production and Arts Management, and is currently studying a Master of Fine Arts (Dance) degree, researching dance on film, at the Queensland University of Technology. Emma has worked as a dancer for companies and independent artists, and creates her own work. She has performed with Opera Queensland (in Graeme Murphy's Turandot, and Hansel and Gretel), OutCast Opera, Zeta Dance Group, and for independent dance artists. Emma has toured in ...2pm on a Cloudy Day, created with Kate Usher for the 2010 Adelaide Fringe Festival, and Unspoken for VerveLab in Melbourne.
In 2009, Emma travelled to Vienna to study at the Impulstanz Dance Festival. In 2011, she undertook an apprenticeship at Kim Robards Dance in Denver, Colorado, and an internship in New York with Untitled|Collective. While in New York, Emma also participated in workshops at the Capezio Peridance Center, the Broadway Dance Center, and Steps on Broadway.
In addition to teaching at dance studios around Brisbane, co-directing the dance school Tiptoe Classical Dance, and teaching for Queensland Ballet's EdSquad, Emma continues with Untitled|Collective as the Australian National Director, and has created a dance film, Triptych, for the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
