Adopt a Dancer Dance Studios

Dance Studios around Brisbane can apply for a Big Sister or Big Brother dancer from Queensland Ballet. 

For $25 per student (minimum 25 students), your studio can adopt a Company Dancer, who would travel to you and teach one 60 minute ballet workshop to your young dancers.  Your dancer will inspire and mentor your students, and will happily join you for a question and answer session after their workshop. 

The Adopt a Dancer package also includes two additional workshops with our EdSquad dancer: Pilates and Stretching, and Performance Technique.

Our Education Manager will liaise with you to arrange appropriate times for your three Adopt a Dancer workshops.  Due to the dancers' schedules, suggested times for the workshops are weeknights or Saturdays.

Adopt a Dancer Performance Plus

As an Adopt a Dancer studio, you are also eligible for further reduced ticket prices to a 2013 ballet in Brisbane.

Your group may attend one of our performances, such as Giselle or Elegance for $22 per student.

This would bring your total Adopt a Dancer Performance Plus package to just $47 per student ($25 Adopt a Dancer + $22 Ballet ticket; minimum 25 students; $14 booking fee applies).

Please liaise with our Education Manager directly to arrange your tickets. We will endeavour to arrange tickets to a performance when your dancer is cast, so that your young dancers can see their dancer light up the stage.

Adopt a Dancer in regional Queensland

Dance Studios in regional Queensland interested in the Adopt a Dancer package can email our Education Manager to enquire how a similar program could be tailored for your studio. Depending on the location of your dance studio, opportunities to get closer to your dancer could include letters, skype, or a dance workshop.
